The Budokwai Club, Fulham Road

The Club, just off the Fulham road, is a private members fitness club. The club operates on trust and doesn’t have space to provide lockers for members. The club was experiencing continual petty theft, much to the annoyance of staff and members. CCTV Cameras London designed and installed a four camera CCTV system. First elements of the design were about prevention and protection: a highly visible stainless steel CCTV warning sign was erected and a screen was installed so that people entering the building could see their own face and be aware that they were being monitored. The second element of design was to capture recognisable images in the event of an incident. This was achieved by positioning cameras at eye level at key points in the building. Since the CCTV system has been in use, the Budokwai Club has seen a dramatic reduction in incidents and have found the system very useful in many different ways. This includes the staff now feeling a lot safer working in the building.
